The best thing about Chicago winters are all the opportunities for a snuggly, romantic Chicago studio engagement session! When Sara & Chris told me this is what they had in mind for their engagement session, I was thrilled. Then, they told me they wanted to bring a record player, coffee, beer, and their adorable pup Suzie, and I died! Basically, all of my favorite things in one shoot, so I knew this would be a great shoot.

I first met Chris when he started working with one of my BFFs at the amazing Chicago brewery, Spiteful! (Seriously if you’ve never tried their beer- do it!). So when I eventually heard from Sara that he had popped the question and they wanted me to shoot their wedding, it was so exciting! We hammered out all the details, and then got to do the fun part- meeting up for their Chicago studio engagement session. They wanted to recreate their favorite kinds of mornings together where they drink coffee, listen to music, and read, all with Suzie by their side. The studio was a perfect spot for this, as these were all things they could bring to the studio, but also get the benefit of the crazy good lighting here. After we had our fun inside, we popped outside for some shots around the Pilsen area, which I had never done before despite being at the studio for 4 years! So it was great to use some of the spots I drive by and think would be cute for photos, but never had done anything about it in the past haha.
