A Wicker Park Chicago engagement session plus a Lincoln Park Zoo engagement session? Sounds like perfectly classic Chicago to me! I first met Maria & Josh in Mexico when I shot their friend’s wedding back in early 2022, so when they reached out after they got engaged themselves I was so excited to work together! It’s always so much fun to work with a friend group.

We planned to meet up on what turned out to be a rainy afternoon that wasn’t predicted (thanks weatherman). We decided to go for it just in case, and I’m glad we did! We ended up getting some really cool photos on this gloomy evening. We started at one of their favorite bars, where they shared laughs over their favorite drink, an espresso martini. Then we wandered over to the rooftop at The Robey, which is always a favorite spot of mine for shooting, and just for hanging out! The rooftop bar is amazing.

Unfortunately after that, we didn’t get to finish the session because it was just getting too dark and rainy. Luckily though we were able to figure out another date for part two, and it worked out perfectly! We got some incredible golden hour vibes at the Lincoln Park zoo area, and it was so much fun to hang out again with these two- Josh can make Maria (and probably anyone and everyone!) laugh so much and it made for the cutest photos. This year we’ll all be going to Italy together for their wedding and I can’t wait!!!!
