Spending the day with Rachel & Drew at their The Pavilion at Orchard Ridge Farms Wedding was simply the best! From start to finish, theirs was a day filled with stunning florals & design, non-stop laughs, happy tears, and just too much fun. So buckle up, this is a long-y but a good-y 🙂

I first met Rachel & Drew for their perfect Lincoln Park & North Ave Beach engagement session! We actually ended up having to do two mini sessions because the first day we met, it randomly started pouring on us to the point where I couldn’t shoot anymore (thanks Chicago!). But, it ended up being great because part two of our session was a stunning summer night, and we got some of my favorite engagement photos ever.

Cut to the next June, and we all gathered at the stunning The Pavilion at Orchard Ridge Farms for the big day! It was another rainy day, but honestly sometimes those are even better than a sunny day as there’s no worries about where the lighting is, so we can shoot anywhere we want to! Plus, overcast can be so romantic right? When I arrived to the bridal suite I was so excited- I had shot at the venue before, but not the getting ready at the on-site hotel, and wow is it stunning. I love the vintage vibes, and the light in there was perfect for detail shots. Speaking of flat-lays, how incredible are all the details that both Rachel & Drew had for me?? Plus an abundance of some of the most beautiful blooms I have ever seen! It was pure perfection. I could have spent an entire day photographing all of this alone. But once things started going, I forgot all about the details! Everyone and everything that happened during prep was so cute and sweet- from Rachel’s touching moments with her parents & bridesmaids, to her & Drew’s adorable first look.

After everyone was dressed and ready, we went out to the gorgeous grounds of the venue for all their photos. I love how up for things they were, and Rachel even ditched her shoes for some super fun running shots. Their whole gang was great to work with, and we got some great shots for them with their best friends. Then it was ceremony time! I love the indoor ceremony space at The Pavilion, it’s just so cozy, romantic & elegant. After the I-do’s we did some more family & wedding party shots, and even despite the rain, some amazing couple photos by my personal favorite tree, the Weeping Willows that surround the space. I think a weeping willow is easily the most romantic tree for photos- so dreamy.

We ended this perfect day with heartfelt speeches, beautiful first dances, and then an incredible dance party! The way they decorated the reception space was just too perfect, and I was obsessed with all their signage, that Rachel actually designed herself! The dried flowers on everything are still one of my favorite details on paper goods ever. They finished their night surrounded by dancing & love from all of their friends and family, and you can gather it all so well from the photos themselves of how much joy was in the room that night.
