The only good thing about the last few years of Covid, is the rise in the small, intimate Chicago wedding! I have always loved smaller weddings, but pre-2020 they were definitely few & far between. So, when Molly & Ryan told me they were keeping their 2021 celebration still fairly small, I was so excited! These kinds of days allow you to really focus on each other as a couple <3

We started the day at the always stunning Chicago Athletic Association Hotel, which while a very dark space, I always have so much fun getting creative in this chic hotel. Then moved out to Grant Park for their adorable first look, couple photos, and some family formals. Then we went on a walk through downtown and stopped along the way for some fun Chicago photos. This was such a great idea, as it allowed us to have so much couple photo time and allowed for me to get creative while doing walking photos. The best part though was obviously when we met up with their perfect pup Mia for some photos at the Wrigley Building! I love when people include their dogs in any way on a wedding day.

Next stop: Big Delicious Planet for their ceremony! This is easily one of my favorite venues as not only is it stunning, but the food is fantastic 😉 They live streamed their intimate wedding ceremony to their friends & family who couldn’t be there, which is such a thoughtful way to include everyone you love. Then they celebrated with a golden hour cocktail party, some dancing, and great food & drinks. Finally, we headed back to the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel for the afterparty! Here they had more of their friends join them for a more traditional reception party. We also got to use the space for some dramatic couple photos, which I loved. All in all, this was such a fun day, and I truly loved being a part of this intimate Chicago wedding 🙂
