I'm so glad you're here. I'm Danielle, a fine art wedding & lifestyle photographer with a focus on capturing magical moments.
Do you ever meet a couple whose love story stays with you long after the camera clicks? Kat and Tim are that kind of pair—warm, genuine souls with a chemistry that’s simply radiant. When I first photographed their engagement session in Evanston, their easygoing nature and laughter-filled connection immediately captured my heart. So, needless to say, anticipation was running high for their wedding day at the stunning Brix on the Fox in Chicago. They selected The Industria venue for its simplicity and intimate charm. Plus, it has one of the prettiest outdoor spaces to relax and play games during cocktail hour. Their wildflower wedding turned out to be even lovelier than I ever imagined.

One thing you quickly learn about Kat is that creativity flows through her veins. From the moment we stepped into their beautiful venue, it was beyond clear that she carefully planned and personally crafted every detail. Kat created all the invitations and decor herself, skillfully turning her vision into reality. She has that rare gift of making something so carefully orchestrated appear effortless and authentic.
The theme they chose—whimsical wildflowers—echoed perfectly throughout the day. Kat personally sourced their florals, showcasing her dedication and meticulous eye. Honestly, the more I discovered, the more amazed I became at the depth of her creative talent. Even their vows were gently handwritten inside delicate “Field Notes” books, complete with carefully pressed wildflowers. Marc Jacobs’ Daisy perfume was the obvious choice for fragrance. With its white daisies perched atop the bottle, it was as if every tiny element whispered of Kat and Tim’s carefree, vibrant love.
And speaking of adorable, can we pause to talk about Kat’s flower girls? They practically danced down the aisle in lace dresses embroidered with tiny petals, twirling beneath the most gorgeous flower crowns. Kat gifted each girl a sweet pressed-flower resin bracelet with a cute bee charm—something they’ll treasure forever. Seeing their beaming faces reminded me why weddings hold such tangible magic: watching love ripple through family, friends, and even the littlest hearts. (Did you catch that her grandfather handed them the rings?! Oh, my heart.)
When it came to decor, Kat expertly balanced whimsy and minimalism. Single-stemmed blooms gracefully filled vintage vases, coloring each table without overwhelming the senses. The ceremony arch, elegantly understated, provided just enough structure to anchor the space, allowing everyone’s attention to rest fully on the couple themselves. Donna at Dagny and Lane Floral did a fabulous job with the arrangement, matching Kat’s vision flawlessly. Kat and Tim decided against having a traditional wedding party, and the simplicity of it felt refreshingly intimate and personal. All eyes were on them.
Kat radiated elegance in her sleek, modern gown that felt both contemporary and timeless. Tim matched her beautifully in his classic black suit, looking polished yet completely relaxed. Their fashion choices perfectly mirrored their genuine, laid-back personalities.
After each wedding I photograph, I often reflect on how deeply personal these celebrations truly are. And Kat and Tim’s day especially resonated because it stayed fully authentic to their values, style, and relationship. Their thoughtful choices weren’t just pretty—they communicated who they are as individuals, and as a couple aspiring to build a life together.
As you plan your wedding, it’s tempting to rely heavily on Pinterest or the latest wedding trends you see online. And while inspiration is valuable, it’s important to remember this: your wedding should feel uniquely yours, not just an imitation of popular images. Here are some practical tips, inspired by Kat and Tim’s thoughtful approach, to help you fine-tune your theme and aesthetic:
Kat’s affinity for petals gave their wildflower wedding a central, heartfelt theme. Think about something meaningful to you both and incorporate it intentionally into your details.
Pinterest boards provide endless ideas, but too many can distract from your true vision. Narrow down your favorites, and eliminate anything that doesn’t resonate fully with you and your partner.
Like Kat, creating elements yourself adds heart and depth. Whether it’s invitations, special favors, or personalized vows, these thoughtful touches invite your guests deeper into your story.
Avoid overloading every corner or moment of your day. Let simplicity create breathing room—for you and your guests—to experience the emotions and interactions fully.
Your wedding celebrates your love. Ask yourself at each step, “Does this decision reflect us?” If it doesn’t align with your personalities or values, it’s okay to leave it aside.
Kat and Tim’s lovely celebration reminded me why weddings are so much more than just aesthetically beautiful events. They are profound moments of storytelling, connection, and legacy. Their whimsical wildflower wedding at The Brix Industria was a breathtaking illustration of how deeply personal a wedding can—and should—be.
Documenting their day on film was an absolute joy, capturing the warmth, laughter, tears, and beauty in ways digital can’t always replicate. Kat and Tim, thank you for allowing me to share in your incredible journey—from your heartfelt vows to the spontaneous dance floor moments that lit up the night. Every frame told a piece of your story, woven together with love, intention, and a kind of magic that only the two of you could bring. The Brix on the Fox served not just as a venue, but as a canvas for your authenticity to shine—and I’m honored to have photographed it all.
