I'm so glad you're here. I'm Danielle, a fine art wedding & lifestyle photographer with a focus on capturing magical moments.
Okay y’all, hold onto your hats (or phones or coffee or whatever 😂) for this Bottom Lounge wedding, because it’s a pretttttty great one! I first met Jared & Kyle for their Lincoln Square engagement session a few years back, where we started for drinks at The Warbler and then met up at a park with their stupidly pretty pup 😍 So, basically an ideal engagement session for yours truly 😉 So when it came to their big day, I couldn’t wait to hang out with them again! The day started out with the two of them getting ready alone together (which is a trend I’m loving for smaller weddings!), and I could tell how much they enjoyed the calm of helping each other get ready before they started their big day. We then met up with their families on the hotel’s rooftop for a champagne pop, and then hopped on the Reggies Bus and went over to the Adler Planetarium for those classic Chicago shots. How insanely adorable are their niece’s and nephews?? They were very ready for their camera debut 😉
Then we headed over to Bottom Lounge for the rest of the night! I love this venue so much- it’s got so much character, while still being super lovely and elegant for a wedding. As it was a rainy day, they had their ceremony inside, which lent for such a moodily romantic vibe. Instead of your traditional walking down the aisle, they both stood at the front together as their nieces and nephews brought them a glass of champagne for them to toast each other before things started which was so cute and unique. After a tear-jerking ceremony, they headed downstairs to the concert part for some fun snacks and music, and then it was back upstairs for the main events.
They of course had some traditional events (toasts, dinner etc) but then during their first dance, they shocked their guests with a surprise Lizzo drag queen show!!! Seriously one of my favorite things I’ve ever been a part of. Everyone had SO much fun, and it was amazing to capture all the reactions, laughter and dancing. They ended the night with a wig bar (amazing) and danced the night away (with wigs on, duh). So I wasn’t lying to you when I said this Bottom Lounge wedding wasn’t one to miss right??
