I'm so glad you're here. I'm Danielle, a fine art wedding & lifestyle photographer with a focus on capturing magical moments.
They say everything is bigger in Texas. As a visiting Chicago wedding photographer, this gorgeous Austin wedding didn’t let me down! Emily and Will’s celebration married classic elegance with Lone Star flair. From cowboy boots the night before to centuries-old live oaks and lace, every detail reflected the couple’s style and their historic venue.
We kicked things off in cowboy boots and hats with a lively rehearsal dinner at The Riley Building. Friends and family gathered in industrial charm. They shared favorite stories and funny memories of the couple. Around the long communal table, laughter echoed through high ceilings and Edison bulbs. As always, I love documenting these candid moments. They reveal the couple’s true selves. Sweet anecdotes, nostalgic tales, and witty roasts all paint a detailed picture of the group dynamics. Those early-evening conversations help me catch meaningful glances and stolen smiles on the big day.
Each city center has its own character. Austin’s personality shines in vibrant murals, live music, and delicious tacos on every corner. Thankfully, their wedding date skirted the height of summer. That cool breeze let us fully enjoy the patio under twinkling city lights. Fairy lights draped overhead, reflecting off cocktail glasses. Guests sipped local craft cocktails while the skyline glowed behind. It was the perfect urban-chic backdrop for candid portraits and heartfelt toasts.
The Allan House stands proudly in downtown Austin. Constructed in 1893, its Victorian architecture exudes refined grace. Tall windows and clean white trim frame each scene. Inside, polished wood floors, petite chandeliers, and grand staircases recall a bygone era. Outside, centuries-old live oaks offer a natural canopy. I can’t think of a more timeless setting for romantic portraits. Draping tulle and florals from branches turned the grove into a fairytale. Candlelight flickered on lace linens. Every shot felt as if it belonged in a classic romance novel.
The next day, we embraced a Texas Hill Country feel in the heart of downtown. Austin’s iconic live oaks have sprawling branches unlike any I’ve ever seen. Their leafy limbs and sturdy trunks make a photo backdrop that’s both grand and intimate. I love how soft ivory tulle looks against weathered bark. String lights wound through branches added magic as dusk fell. Emily’s light blue bridesmaid dresses complemented the dusky sky. Will’s handsome tux stood out against the soft greenery and white mansion. Those portraits under ancient oaks capture both scale and emotion.
Emily chose a soft white and light blue palette. Dainty white-rose bouquets added fresh simplicity. Lace overlays and silk ribbons lent romantic texture. Will’s single-rose boutonnière echoed her lace dress and color palette. The table settings featured classic white china, subtle greenery from the hydrangea leaves, and floating white taper candles. The result? A timeless look that never feels trendy or dated. Every detail played into the home’s Victorian roots. From the groom’s classic cufflinks to the bride’s cathedral veil, each piece felt purposeful.
As a photographer, I’m always chasing the fleeting. The tear in a father’s eye. The best man’s mid-speech giggle. The couple’s private dance in an empty hallway. The soft grandeur of the Allan House provided endless framed compositions. Each architectural detail and courtyard nook became a storytelling element. Yet it was those small interactions that stole my heart. Emily’s bestie straightening her veil. Will planting a kiss on Emily’s forehead before the ceremony. That’s why including a rehearsal dinner matters—those insights fuel deeper connections on the wedding day.
