Claudia & Brad’s mini wedding was my second Covid-era wedding, and it was the sweetest lil celebration ever! I had kind of known them for a while now- they own/work at my favorite Chicago brewery, Spiteful Brewing! My friends and I are big beer nerds, so we had been following them for years before they had an actual tap room. Once they were set up at their current spot, a few of my friends got jobs there, which is still, years later, so much fun to know so many people there. Then when Claudia & Brad got engaged, my friend recommended me to shoot their wedding, and the rest is history! Once Covid hit, they were really easy going and just rolled with the new rules, creating their new plan pretty quickly. They were just so ready to get married they wanted to keep their date no matter what! I love that idea, of wanting to start your marriage, no matter what the actual wedding itself turns out to look like. But in the end, they told me they were thrilled to just have a super simple day, so it all worked out for the best 🙂 When the day arrived, we met up at Montrose Beach and got a police escort inside (the beach is currently closed, but their officiant is a police officer, so he pulled some strings 😉 )for their lakeside ceremony, and after they said their “I-do’s”, they had their “reception” right there at the lake (with plenty of Spiteful beer of course)! Then we went around the city a bit for some photos, and then back to Spiteful for some beer and more photos. It was great walking up to the brewery once we got there, everyone inside cheered and showered them in congratulations. It was a really hot and muggy day, so one nice thing about being at the brewery was getting to cool off in the walk in freezer haha. It was so much fun to spend time with them, we ended up having so much in common that we just were chatting all day! I love when that happens. It was such a lovely day, and I got tipped in all the delicious beer I could want, so all in all, not a bad time 😉 Check out the photos from their perfect mini wedding 🙂
