Are y’all ready for this super charming, sun-soaked, animal-filled, Galena Wedding!? I know I always am 😉 Last year I had the please of traveling up to Galena from Chicago for Katie & Carter’s wedding, and it was simply the best. We started out in two adorable Air BnB’s in Galena, where Katie & Carter spent super fun mornings with their best guy & gal pals getting ready. Then we traveled a bit further up state to the incredible venue Oak Hill Farms, where after postponing for a year (thanks covid) they finally got to have their dream Galena wedding 🙂

Although it was a hot day, we spent the afternoon exploring all the little nooks & cranny’s of this great venue, including it’s old school house and general store! It was so cool to have a venue that had so much farm & vintage charm, but then also a very modern & stunning all white barn for the reception. Also, how amazing is that outdoor ceremony space?? I love an outdoor ceremony more than anything, and this was a truly magical spot for these two to say “I-do”. Plus, can you believe all the horses & donkeys on the property? Katie & I were actually crying getting to pet and photograph them all. It was so sweet right before the ceremony because her mom & dad surprised her with a horse drawn carriage ride to the ceremony spot, and she was thrilled. And of course we had to take a million sunset photos with all the cuties as well, and I was just thrilled when Katie decided to jump on the horse for some photos! My kind of gal 😉

And of course, what can I say about this amazing couple!? They are just so incredibly kind and loving to each other, and were over the moon to finally be husband & wife. The day was beautiful, and the night was a blast! Their friends really know how to party! One of my favorite moments was when the glow sticks came out and they did a tunnel with them. It was so fun to play with all the lights and get a little experimental. It really is a perfect depiction of how much fun that night was. Overall, this was a perfect day with a perfect couple that makes me feel even luckier to be a wedding photographer 🙂
