If you know me, you know I love horses, and it’s one of my favorite reasons to shoot a Kentucky wedding! My fiance is from the Lexington Kentucky area, and after our trip to DC (see these two shoots I did there: 1 & 2) we continued our road trip to visit his family after not seeing them for a whole year (thanks covid). Since we had done a lot of driving, we stayed in the area for a few weeks, and that meant I knew I finally had to shoot with some horses! I found a place that would let us use the horses for some photos, and I even got there early to shoot the horses by themselves (because duh). Then my stunning model couple showed up, we put Portia in her amazing gown from Twirl, grabbed my favorite bouquet ever from Thistle & Bloom Studio, and had some fun! Our model horse wasn’t super into paying attention to the camera, and was really interested in the grass they were standing on haha so unfortunately we only got a few shots with him, but luckily the rest of the property was stunning & in bloom, and we created some magic. It was so much fun to finally shoot a Kentucky wedding after all my years of traveling to the area (at time of writing this, I’ve been going down there for the past 10 years!), and it couldn’t have been more beautiful 🙂
