Caitlyn & Matt: Rustic & Stylish Chicago Wedding

Are you ready for perfect details, amazing style, a stunning venue, and loads of love? Well, you’re in the right place then! Caitlyn & Matt’s day was all of that, and more. We first met at their engagement session, where we wandered around their (and my!) neighborhood of Ravenswood/Lincoln Square. We hit it off right away with our shared love of music, and I wasย just in love with the way they could make each other laugh non-stop ๐Ÿ™‚

You know a wedding is going to be great when the couple met dressed as a hot dog and a candy-corn-witch hybrid: “We met in college…at a kegger! Matt and I had a mutual friend (one of my college roommates actually) and like a true 21st century romance story, I saw him on her Facebook page and thought he was super cute. We met at a few parties here and there but ended up really hitting it off on Halloween my junior year of college…he was a hotdog and I was your standard candy-corn witch hybrid (the costume was small which was all that mattered at the time. I got cold that night and he offered up his hotdog costume…the rest (seven years later!) is history.” Isn’t that such a hilarious, yet super sweet, story!? Like I mentioned before, they’re huge music and comedy lovers, and go to Milwaukee often to see shows. On one trip there they took a detour on the way to a show, and he popped the question along the river ๐Ÿ™‚

The wedding itself was just incredible! I met up with them at the Starline Factory in Harvard, IL, and spent a wonderful hour capturing their well thought out decor and getting ready shots. We then did an adorable first look, got some couple photos, and then came ceremony time! Their vows were so heartfelt and funny, it was a great thing to witness. Then came time for more portraits with their fun wedding party (how cute were those bridesmaid dresses!? ), and on to party time! We heard speeches from the best man and maid of honor, ate a delicious meal, they cut that beautiful cake (that had lyrics from The Zombies “This Will be Our Year” on it!) and they spent the night dancing with their best friends and family. Overall, it was a night filled with so much love, happiness and great music… There’s nothing better than that ๐Ÿ™‚
